Welcome to the Online College @ SBVC!

Is it difficult for you to take courses because of the time and location restrictions of on-campus classes? The Online College @ SBVC may be the answer!

Online classes can provide you with the flexibility to complete coursework at times that are convenient to your work and family responsibilities or social activities. Working from your home computer, you may also save money normally associated with transportation and childcare costs. Most online courses require few (if any) on-campus meetings. Please note: some classes, such as Speech 100 and the science lab classes, involve on-campus presence for the completion of course requirements.

To find out if online learning is a good fit for your learning style, please take a few minutes to complete the student skills and technical skills surveys. These short quizzes will provide you with valuable feedback on whether online learning is right for you!

What people are saying about Online College @ SBVC
Photo of April MarshallApril Marshall is an Air Force veteran and a single mother of two. She uses the GI Bill to help her through school so she has to maintain a full load of classes. She says that online classes have "totally saved" her because she can combine both online and on-campus classes to make a full load. She will be transferring to UCR in the fall and hopes that UCR has as many online classes as SBVC. She said that she would not be transferring if it weren't for the online classes. The bottom line for her is time. "You can't buy more time." But a student can take classes online so that she is not trapped in a "time bind" with scheduling.
