Courses offered by the Computer Information Technology (CIT) Department are interactive, featuring hands-on experience with the college's computer hardware and software. The courses cover a range of topics in the computer field with an emphasis on productivity software in word processing, data base management, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, graphics, and courseware on the IBM-PC and Macintosh.
The Computer Information Technology curriculum may culminate in either an Associate of Arts degree or a certificate. The degree program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution with a major in computer information systems or a related discipline. Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution and major in Computer Information Technology should consult with a counselor regarding the transfer process and lower division requirements. The certificate program prepares students for entry-level employment in education, industry, and businesses that require the use of microcomputers. |
