California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Program

What is the CAHSEE Program?

The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Program is designed primarily to assist students who did not pass the CAHSEE Exam or who have course deficiencies, receive their high school diploma. In addition, students are also provided assistance in areas such as skill building, learning assessment, and career planning. Of the 109 California Community Colleges, San Bernardino Valley College is one of forty community colleges which were selected to receive a CAHSEE Grant. Funded through the California Community College Chancellor's Office, San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC), working in partnership with Colton Joint Unified School District, Rialto Unified School District and San Bernardino Unified School District have developed the CAHSEE Program on the SBVC campus.

How do I apply to the CAHSEE Program?

  • Complete a SBVC application for admissions
  • Complete a Board of Governors Waiver (BOGW Fee Waiver)
  • Take the SBVC English, Mathematics, and Reading assessment test
  • Make an Intake Appointment with the CAHSEE Director
  • Bring your High School Transcripts and CAHSEE Test Scores to your Intake appointment with the CAHSEE Director

CAHSEE Program Eligibility

To be eligible for the CAHSEE program, students must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Not have passed one or both parts of the CAHSEE Exam
  • Lack high school credits
  • Lack high school credits AND not passed one or both parts of the CAHSEE Test

AND

  • Would have graduated from high school in either 2007 or 2008

CAHSEE Program Services

Services provided by the CAHSEE Program at SBVC include, but are not limited to:

  • Non-credit basic skill courses
  • CAHSEE Test Preparation
  • Tutoring
  • Time Management
