Monsignor Petere LuqueMonsignor Peter Luque is a Roman Catholic priest in the San Bernardino diocese; he was ordained in 1962. Born and raised in Colton, he attended Wilson Elementary School and graduated from Colton High School in 1952. Luque graduated from Valley College (1954) where he was a cheerleader and active in intramural sports. He earned his B.A. at the University of San Diego and studied theology at St. Francis Seminary and Immaculate Heart Seminary. Father Luque has served several parishes including Our Lady of Guadalupe (San Bernardino), San Salvador (Colton), Our Lady of Guadalupe (Chino) and St. Edward's (Corona). Proud of his Mexican ancestry and heritage, he has been involved in Hispanic affairs and causes within the community and Church, holding the positions in the San Bernardino diocese of Episcopal Vicar for Hispanic Affairs and Chancellor for Hispanic Affairs. Father Luque has had a long commitment to social justice, walking with the late Cesar Chavez for justice for farm laborers and protesting social injustices in numerous local contexts. He was elevated to monsignor in 1985. Monsignor Luque was inducted into the Valley College Alumni Hall of Fame in 1995 spring semester.
